The Alewives are coming!

Osprey have been sighted circling the bay and diving after fish. A few days ago, one came up with a smelt but more recently several osprey have brought up alewives! There are no big schools in the bay yet and none have entered the fish ladder but we expect they’ll be here soon. Sunshine and warmer temperatures would help!
Construction is still going on — the new conveyor is almost in and the bridge beside it will be completed next week.
A reminder— for now the fish ladder is open although there are constraints on movement due to construction between the fish house and the dippers. Please practice social distancing if you visit—stay 6 feet away from others, wear a face mask and gloves, stay home if you’re sick, and please come back later if too many people are present. Thanks for your cooperation!
