COVID, Construction, and Cold

We are sure having a cold April! Since alewife migration is triggered by water temperature, it seems likely that the fish will be a bit late in arriving! Osprey, herons, and egrets have returned, nests are active, and the wait for alewives is on!
Construction between the fish house and the harvesting area continues. The new bridge by the harvesting area is under construction and the new conveyor is painted and ready for installation in conjunction with the new bridge. Look for big progress next week—it may be possible to walk between the fish house and Ladds Hill Road by the end of next week!!
The fish ladder property is open to the public but COVID-19 is still a real problem in Maine. So, please stay home if you’re sick, practice social distancing (keep 6 feet from others), and visit another time if you see too many people visiting the fish ladder.
Thanks to all and stay safe!!!
