The alewives are (finally!) here!

There are so many fish in the fish ladder right now!!! A school of alewives passed under the railroad bridge late yesterday afternoon and they entered the fish ladder this morning. Since then fish have been streaming in. Hooray! The first alewives came in in late April but sadly, rain and cool temperatures slowed the run down. Let’s hope we don’t get too much rain this weekend….its time for school upon school of alewives to head up the fish ladder to spawn!!!
