Small schools arriving every day

The alewives have been arriving in small schools so there are fish in the ladder but not in the huge numbers we’ll see later in the run. So, if you visit, you are sure to see fish but wait a bit if you want to see them so thick you could almost walk on their backs across the stream. Harvesting will begin when the alewives are in thick, probably early next week.
