2024 Upstream alewife run slowly slowing down

Sunday June 4 There are still some alewives ascending the fish ladder but there are now more “run-backs” (alewives that have spawned and are headed back to sea). It’s been a good year, so many fish at the height of the run, but it got off to a slow start and is ending the same way. Harvesting is over for the year.
